Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) , June 3, 2004 - The Search Engine Marketing
Professional Organization (SEMPO),
a non-profit association working to increase awareness and promote the
value of Search Engine Marketing worldwide, today announced the European
Committee. Mauro Lupi has been designated as the Chairman of SEMPO Europe,
that includes seven international search engine marketing executives members.
SEMPO represents the common interests of more than 230
companies and consultants worldwide, providing them with a voice in the
marketplace. SEMPO exists to fill the gaps in awareness and understanding
of SEM, including educating marketing managers worldwide about what SEM
is and how properly implemented SEM programs can provide some of the highest
returns on investment possible in the marketing world today.
Mauro Lupi is founder and President of Ad Maiora, an
Internet marketing and advertising company. Ad Maiora is the Italian leader
in search engine marketing services. With its headquarters in Rome, the
company also has branches in Milan and San Francisco.
The European SEMPO Committee members currently include:

President and Chair of the Board of SEMPO Inc. and CEO
of WebMama.com Inc., Barbara C. Coll, noted, "We are delighted that
Mauro Lupi has joined SEMPO to coordinate the local activities of SEMPO
in Europe. His appointment and the creation of the European SEMPO Committee
are reflections of the worldwide growth of search engine marketing and
the commitment of SEMPO to reach a worldwide audience."
Lupi observed, "Europe is just beginning to show
its online potential. Fifty-five percent of Europe is online and that
figure is growing three times faster than the US. The total number of
users in Europe is larger than that of the US and Canada. Since the web
market is at a critical point in its growth, this is the best moment to
create a European SEMPO Committee in Europe."
According to US Bancorp Piper Jaffray, some of the biggest
international online markets outside the United States currently are:
Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Spain. Search volume is
expected to grow at a compounded annual rate of five to ten percent in
the US, and at about twenty percent internationally. US Bancorp Piper
Jaffray projects Europe will increasingly gain significance.
Lupi's appointment expands the SEMPO board to nine directors.
They include:
" Barbara C. Coll, http://www.webmama.com [WebMama.com Inc.], Chairperson
of the Board and President of SEMPO;
